The Irish newspaper The Irish Sun reported this week that AirTisses ticketing agency, Airtix, had been breached by a man claiming to be an employee of the Irish Department of Justice.
According to the report, the man had obtained a credit card, and when contacted by the company via Facebook, told the employee that he had a ticket for an AirTicket flight from Cork to New York.
The employee then requested that Airtiss contact the customer to verify the ticket was valid, but AirTitz did not respond.
The man then went to AirTictx’s website, where he posted that he was a staff member of the Department of justice.
The AirTiz website shows that the man claimed to be a member of AirTixt, and had access to Airtiz’s website and payment processing software.
The AirTicx website shows AirTison as a company, and the AirTiscity website shows the company as a Dublin based company.
AirTix, which has offices in Dublin, London and Sydney, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The report was published on the website of The Irish Independent on Tuesday.
